Google Keyword Position Tool

August 14th, 2007

Continuously adding resourceful contents to our Web Directory is always a Top Priority. We have added a good amount of resourceful websites during the past months and are doing it on a day to day basis. Our editors are doing a very fine job in adding those and I must say that they are very well committed. New Categories have been added like Gas and Energy, Physics and some more in other Top Categories. Our long term plan is to add more resourceful topics on categories but not undervaluing it by immediately adding new categories without any content. Last month we launched a Page Rank Checker and this month we have added a new tool for our webmasters resource, The Google Keyword Position Tool.

RipenApples.com, a trusted friend of Dirsensei Web Directory, whose owner a young php programming genius had set up this tool for our web directory. The tool is a great resource for webmasters looking for or searching their specific keywords in Google. It simultaneously bring results in a 4 column orderly manner. It has choices in a drop down menu of any Google data center available and Google country extensions.  An indeed nice tool that can be used.

We hope to bring more tools to contribute to the webmasters resources on the world wide web and we are very proud of this contribution. Our primary aim is still the same and we hope to deliver the best resources that everyone can use. I would like to thank once again the staff and editors for their unending efforts of contribution and a Special Thanks to Anthony of RipenApples.com for his webmaster tool tailor made just for our directory.

Barry Bonds Sets 756 Home Run Record

August 8th, 2007

The number seven fifty five is gone which lived a long good noble life of 30 years. It was spawned from the powerful bat of an aging slugger named Hank Aaron on July 20,1976. It was occasionally challenged but was never beaten till a cool evening in August in San Francisco Bay. The record of 755 finally perished at the hands of a relentless, most of the time controversial player from the west named Barry Lamar Bonds. Tuesday night PDT 8:51 PM when Barry swinged a 3-2 pitch from Washington Nationals Mike Backsic driving the ball in right-center field in the fifth inning, giving him his 756 career home runs. There was a sell out crowd at the stadium with mostly documenting the bright moment. Flashes of camera and video shots from the crowd, Bonds hitting the ball immediately dropped his bat and raised both his arms in the air as he watched the ball fly with the crowd exploding in unambiguous ecstasy and the game stopping for some minutes.

Bonds circled the bases accompanied by fireworks over the San Francisco Bay and with pointed hands in the sky as he touched home plate. He hugged his teammates with his family brought in the field to wish him of what has been the beginning of a new record to beat in Major League Baseball. Then a surprise for everyone in a stunning twist of the moment when Hank Aaron showed himself in the big screen to congratulate Barry of the record breaking homerun. The tribute left an indication that with no doubt Aaron has given Bond’s record his support and unqualified endorsement. Only 3 players in the Major League and in the last 86 years has held this feat. Babe Ruth first captured the record and surrendered it posthumously to Hank Aaron in 1974 and now it belongs to Barry Bonds.

Bed and Breakfast

August 6th, 2007

Summer is almost over and we have not yet spent our time vacationing. Plans have been made already and hopefully we could accommodate ourselves. The hectic work schedule had prevented us for our usual summer get away. The children are ok though spending time with friends and in the local community pool and recreation facility in Piney Orchard. There is a tentative schedule that we planned at the end of August but we still have to confirm it at the second quarter of this month. We have viewed some destinations but decided we would spend it if we can with my wife’s friends’ in Chicago and we used a Chicago Travel Guide to view what’s there in store for us. We also tried to see some nice places to stay but most are booked and quite expensive for this time. So I have found out this new site of Travel Accommodation that surely would be of handy now and the future days to come if we decide on going to any destination as it has a lot of useful resources as I can say.

Hopefully our plans should be definitely decided by August 15. If all are well we would be spending our week long vacation at the Windy City with friends and family. The children are already excited about the plans and they might be skipping a few days off from school since that will be the start of classes this year here at Odenton.

Dirsensei Web Directory - Page Rank Tool

July 30th, 2007

Improvements is an ongoing process and has always been in included in our long term planning. Fresh contents and informational websites are added daily at Dirsensei Web Directory. Success is always our top priority, grandiose service to our clients are our everyday goal, safe searching and family friendly websites will always be a part of our commitment and we have joined a campaign for charity as part of our devotion and commitment for the community. Developments are necessary to bring out the best and this is part of our continous growth.

While we are busy doing all these we have forgotten to launch our new addition for our directory. The Page Rank Checker Tool is our new addition and has been doing well in terms of its functions. It was launch and added a week ago but we have never formally announced it and now takes the opportunity. The tool has a rolling content for checking the page rank and on the side has a drop down menu of all data centers. This tool was developed by our friend RipenApples.com and is working on some more.

We do certainly hope that this tool becomes a part of the growing number of tools and we would be glad to introduce more on the days to come. We hope everyone likes it and we would be coming out with more in the future.

SEOMOZ - Rand Fishkin Directory Revenge

July 26th, 2007

Seomoz Rand Fishkin owner of a Seattle based search engine optimization company has been attacking the directory industry lately with his mild mannered antics. According to his statements at his White Board Friday Show, web directories are a waste of money that he gave an advice to one of his posters. So where does this all started ? How come Mr. Fishkin suddenly came out of the blue doing this outrageous attacks on web directory ? It all started on late May or early June when most of the directory owners were dissatisfied when Rand, without an announcement, made the tool from FREE to PAID. Its ok when something in advance should be announced after all he has made the tool free for some time already and announcing it would not be of much a difference since many people would really purchase it at a reasonable price. More story can be read Here. That tool by the way was popularized by Jeff Behrendt of Aviva Web Directory of his Strongest Directories List . Now let me ask you this, how many directory owners helped Mr. Fishkin popularized his SEOMOZ Tool Page. Does an average or normal website owner care about page strength of their website ? Is it right for Mr. Fishkin to attack the people who have helped him dearly promoting his tool ?The problem with Rand Fishkin, the revenge plot is very open and visible. He attacked Aviva and Jeff without even considering that the guy has helped a lot in promoting his tool even though its inaccurate. There is a fine line between quality directory and crap and I don’t disagree with that term but taking Aviva out as an example, whip it and say it lacks the credibility to rank in its own keyword search term just because an SEO expert has been published as a QBC is totally wrong. A follow up on this is telling the public that he is in constant contact with Jeff, indirectly telling the public that they are cool with each other while openly whipping Aviva and Kwik Goblin is definitely a poor show of a stand up comic for an SEO expert. In fact the term should be a Modern Day Backstabber.

However, there are always people who believe in justice. It is an honorable thing and a very friendly gesture that John Scott of V7N has defended Jeff in his absence. See other posts of Rand Fishkin and some followers in this Section of V7N Forums. In my opinion Rand should have taken his own site as an example rather than others. That is a noble thing to do. It is like in a party and you are the host, have invited some guest and openly you shoot the certain invited guest with an arrow in the limb then you say now we can have a toast.

Relevant & Quality Links

July 19th, 2007

Base on an article by John Rang of Best Internet Resource the subject also should cover what web directories should suppose to be like. Most web directories are primarily aimed at gaining attention through irrelevant modules, content or worse lacking QUALITY INFORMATIVE LISTINGS. So what are web directories definition in particular ? Most of the Top 50 in ranking SERPS for individual keywords for directories in general are mainly focused on gaining popularity through SEO and link building (buying high pr irrelevant sites) but lacking INSIDE INFORMATIVE CONTENT. If anybody has to look it up slowly and figure out what I mean, these web directories have highly huge categories gaining so much pages indexed without even having a single listing. Blank and Nada. Some of them populate it with NEWS FEEDS which in my opinion is very deceiving and these directories are primarily aimed at profiteering instead of the usual authentic ones who takes the real invested time adding quality content. While their site description says the best, quality, high standards or whatever BALONEY they can think of I find it amusing that when I visit an important category such as Reference, Health or Kids and Teens there are NO LISTINGS that an end user can benefit from. But wait, look at the most popular categories such as Internet, Computers, or Shopping and you will find the huge amount of sites that are listed. These people don’t take the time to improve their contents but rather take the time for them to appear in SERPS and TRAFFIC as they claim. Matt Cutts should know this too.

John Scott of V7N and Jeff Behrendt of Aviva has some perfect examples of web directories when it comes to adding quality content. Not mentioning the pioneers of quality sites such as Best of the Web, Clush, Alive, Uncover the Net, Wow Directory, Joe Ant, Romow and more. Special mention goes to C Reed of eWebPages who cooks Japanese Food perfectly while his directory is one prime example of a well edited and useful content web directory.

The other sites in the Top 50 genre ? Well they are just primarily aimed at gaining SERPS, PR and TRAFFIC for the purpose of selling links and profiting like vultures with no intention of nothing and yet they announce their directories as the GREATEST of THEM ALL and placing descriptions such as……. WELL WHATEVER. So Matt Cutts there are some here in this industry as well that needs your attention. Get the axe and chop them off to make way for those that are really deserving in that GENRE.

Real Estate Market

July 12th, 2007

Last week we were looking around our community and saw quite a number of houses for sale. Most of our neighbors have either relocated to another state with some of them went as far as going overseas. Land prices has really declined making it hard to sell your house on your terms right now. We have talked to many of the homeowners and most are dis satisfied with their piece of investment. It seems that they bought it and the price depreciated a lot. So we went ahead and see whats going on and viewed some of the properties for sale and we were surprised that they are selling it for less than the amount of what they purchased making it a total loss. I understand that there are many expenses incurred but it seems that one must be ready before jumping to a purchase since no one knows exactly how every business goes up and down from time to time. It is the same concept though that each must be ready for that rainy season ahead. Anticipation alone is not the brightest of the brightest idea. A very well executed plan at the same time some financial savings could be the best especially during these time of land depreciation you can hold on till the prices gets to a more favorable one.

A look around the neighborhood most of the eye catching property that sold quickly are the mobile homes. Especially fitted for small families and low budget, these are the most bought properties right now since savings is imminent. We looked for a couple mobile homes and we were impressed on their value and at the same time the interiors and land location. The community tenants are so friendly and amenities are of quality. I think this would be the proper investment right now for small families and small budgeted individuals. We are looking also to purchase one and might decide to rent our home. We like it a lot.
