Dirsensei Web Directory - Page Rank Tool

Monday, July 30th, 2007

Improvements is an ongoing process and has always been in included in our long term planning. Fresh contents and informational websites are added daily at Dirsensei Web Directory. Success is always our top priority, grandiose service to our clients are our everyday goal, safe searching and family friendly websites will always be a part of our commitment and we have joined a campaign for charity as part of our devotion and commitment for the community. Developments are necessary to bring out the best and this is part of our continous growth.

While we are busy doing all these we have forgotten to launch our new addition for our directory. The Page Rank Checker Tool is our new addition and has been doing well in terms of its functions. It was launch and added a week ago but we have never formally announced it and now takes the opportunity. The tool has a rolling content for checking the page rank and on the side has a drop down menu of all data centers. This tool was developed by our friend RipenApples.com and is working on some more.

We do certainly hope that this tool becomes a part of the growing number of tools and we would be glad to introduce more on the days to come. We hope everyone likes it and we would be coming out with more in the future.

SEOMOZ - Rand Fishkin Directory Revenge

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

Seomoz Rand Fishkin owner of a Seattle based search engine optimization company has been attacking the directory industry lately with his mild mannered antics. According to his statements at his White Board Friday Show, web directories are a waste of money that he gave an advice to one of his posters. So where does this all started ? How come Mr. Fishkin suddenly came out of the blue doing this outrageous attacks on web directory ? It all started on late May or early June when most of the directory owners were dissatisfied when Rand, without an announcement, made the tool from FREE to PAID. Its ok when something in advance should be announced after all he has made the tool free for some time already and announcing it would not be of much a difference since many people would really purchase it at a reasonable price. More story can be read Here. That tool by the way was popularized by Jeff Behrendt of Aviva Web Directory of his Strongest Directories List . Now let me ask you this, how many directory owners helped Mr. Fishkin popularized his SEOMOZ Tool Page. Does an average or normal website owner care about page strength of their website ? Is it right for Mr. Fishkin to attack the people who have helped him dearly promoting his tool ?The problem with Rand Fishkin, the revenge plot is very open and visible. He attacked Aviva and Jeff without even considering that the guy has helped a lot in promoting his tool even though its inaccurate. There is a fine line between quality directory and crap and I don’t disagree with that term but taking Aviva out as an example, whip it and say it lacks the credibility to rank in its own keyword search term just because an SEO expert has been published as a QBC is totally wrong. A follow up on this is telling the public that he is in constant contact with Jeff, indirectly telling the public that they are cool with each other while openly whipping Aviva and Kwik Goblin is definitely a poor show of a stand up comic for an SEO expert. In fact the term should be a Modern Day Backstabber.

However, there are always people who believe in justice. It is an honorable thing and a very friendly gesture that John Scott of V7N has defended Jeff in his absence. See other posts of Rand Fishkin and some followers in this Section of V7N Forums. In my opinion Rand should have taken his own site as an example rather than others. That is a noble thing to do. It is like in a party and you are the host, have invited some guest and openly you shoot the certain invited guest with an arrow in the limb then you say now we can have a toast.

Relevant & Quality Links

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

Base on an article by John Rang of Best Internet Resource the subject also should cover what web directories should suppose to be like. Most web directories are primarily aimed at gaining attention through irrelevant modules, content or worse lacking QUALITY INFORMATIVE LISTINGS. So what are web directories definition in particular ? Most of the Top 50 in ranking SERPS for individual keywords for directories in general are mainly focused on gaining popularity through SEO and link building (buying high pr irrelevant sites) but lacking INSIDE INFORMATIVE CONTENT. If anybody has to look it up slowly and figure out what I mean, these web directories have highly huge categories gaining so much pages indexed without even having a single listing. Blank and Nada. Some of them populate it with NEWS FEEDS which in my opinion is very deceiving and these directories are primarily aimed at profiteering instead of the usual authentic ones who takes the real invested time adding quality content. While their site description says the best, quality, high standards or whatever BALONEY they can think of I find it amusing that when I visit an important category such as Reference, Health or Kids and Teens there are NO LISTINGS that an end user can benefit from. But wait, look at the most popular categories such as Internet, Computers, or Shopping and you will find the huge amount of sites that are listed. These people don’t take the time to improve their contents but rather take the time for them to appear in SERPS and TRAFFIC as they claim. Matt Cutts should know this too.

John Scott of V7N and Jeff Behrendt of Aviva has some perfect examples of web directories when it comes to adding quality content. Not mentioning the pioneers of quality sites such as Best of the Web, Clush, Alive, Uncover the Net, Wow Directory, Joe Ant, Romow and more. Special mention goes to C Reed of eWebPages who cooks Japanese Food perfectly while his directory is one prime example of a well edited and useful content web directory.

The other sites in the Top 50 genre ? Well they are just primarily aimed at gaining SERPS, PR and TRAFFIC for the purpose of selling links and profiting like vultures with no intention of nothing and yet they announce their directories as the GREATEST of THEM ALL and placing descriptions such as……. WELL WHATEVER. So Matt Cutts there are some here in this industry as well that needs your attention. Get the axe and chop them off to make way for those that are really deserving in that GENRE.

Real Estate Market

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

Last week we were looking around our community and saw quite a number of houses for sale. Most of our neighbors have either relocated to another state with some of them went as far as going overseas. Land prices has really declined making it hard to sell your house on your terms right now. We have talked to many of the homeowners and most are dis satisfied with their piece of investment. It seems that they bought it and the price depreciated a lot. So we went ahead and see whats going on and viewed some of the properties for sale and we were surprised that they are selling it for less than the amount of what they purchased making it a total loss. I understand that there are many expenses incurred but it seems that one must be ready before jumping to a purchase since no one knows exactly how every business goes up and down from time to time. It is the same concept though that each must be ready for that rainy season ahead. Anticipation alone is not the brightest of the brightest idea. A very well executed plan at the same time some financial savings could be the best especially during these time of land depreciation you can hold on till the prices gets to a more favorable one.

A look around the neighborhood most of the eye catching property that sold quickly are the mobile homes. Especially fitted for small families and low budget, these are the most bought properties right now since savings is imminent. We looked for a couple mobile homes and we were impressed on their value and at the same time the interiors and land location. The community tenants are so friendly and amenities are of quality. I think this would be the proper investment right now for small families and small budgeted individuals. We are looking also to purchase one and might decide to rent our home. We like it a lot.

Paradise Philippines

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

Philippines a paradise of 7,100 islands in the far east. With the beautiful spectacular scenic beaches, virgin forests, tropical fruits, wildlife and most especially its people. The people of the country has the most adorable traits worldwide because of their friendliness, its never dying gratitude and of course of helping each other in the form of Bayanihan. I remember when I was growing as a kid in the suburbs of Sta. Mesa at Bacood, there used to be a playground of happy children playing, laughing, swimming in the free pool or just plain hanging around at the Paraiso ng Batang Maynila. That playground gave us a lot of memories during our childhood days and stays as a great memory for me. Though it was converted into individual housing it still will be the best place for me to visit when I go back home. My second stop would be the white sand beaches at the hundred islands in Pangasinan and the famous Baguio City. Then there we would take maybe a plane towards Cebu and visit Boracay which I have never seen but heard of a such extreme nice place to visit. But don’t ever forget the Philippine Foods that are so tasty and mouth watering especially my favorite Lechon de Leche and Pinakbet. Of course a dessert of the wide variety of tropical fruits like mangoes and the coconut, not including the home made leche flans, cassava cake and the delicious ice creams in the street corner of the Mamang Sorbetero.

Hey Paradise Philippines from Maryland, USA expect me and my family to be there.

Creative Illusion

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

At last Creative Illusion has made a web directory for herself. It seems she has thought over that she was designing a lot of artistic and excellent web directory templates but does not have a time to build one for her. Luckily with some assistance she has made a general category directory for herself and soon would have a custom skin designed for her of course. Non Stop Directory will soon join the ranks of quality web directory and would be a force to reckon with in terms of quality links. Newly launched to this date but its timely with the next update.

Good Luck Anna to your project.
